Soil Pavement with soft foot touch It is a landscaping pavement with natural soil color using sand or sandy soils and special polymer binder.
| The color display the natural color of used sand or sandy soils well harmony with peripheral landscape. | | No generation of puddles during and after rainfall with almost no corrosion or loss of soils. | | No sand dust generation in fine weather. | | Well resistant to skidding and foot touch is soft. | | Excellent at durability. Pot-holes are hardly generated. | |
Paths in nature, promenades lanes in parks, gardens and play lots lanes in residential area Jogging course Multi purpose squares
There are two types of W-Sand. One is SF type stressing the soft feeling to foot touch using special urethan resin as binder. And the other one is more DR type stressing the durability and strength using special epoxy-resin as binder. At where vehicles for administration pass and for bicycle lanes DR type is applied.
| W-Sand is the unification of former SF-Sand and DR-Sand considering the similarity of usage. Former pages are also available and include some other information. | |
| Mixing | | Laying | | Compaction | | Finishing | | Curing | | Completion | Mix sand and special polymer | Lay and spread with wooden rake | Compact by vibrating plate | Finish with trowels | One day | |
The typical structure is shown in the figure right. Other structure is possible.
Larger the value, stronger the strength. | Fig.1 Penetration Resistance by Procter | Larger the value, hard to slip | Fig.2 Skid Resistance
| For both GB factor and SB factor, smaller the value, lighter the shock to foot. | Fig.3 Shock Absorbing & Rebound | GB factor Shown as the percentage of rebound height when a golf ball is dropped from height of 1 m. Smaller the value, larger the shock absorption. SB factor Shown as the percentage of rebound height when a steel ball (1 inch diameter) was dropped from height of 1 m. Larger the value, larger the rebound elasticity. | |
