Large Stone Asphalt Mixture (40 mm Top Size)
Hi-Stac 40
What is Hi-Stac 40
It is a mixture using large stone as large as 40 mm as aggregates with continuous gradation. The binder used is straight asphalt.
In case used as surface course, plant fibers are added in order to improve surface texture.

Merits
  1. Excellent at rutting resistance (Fig. 1)
  2. Excellent at raveling resistance (Fig. 2)
  3. By adding plant fibers, the surface texture become almost the same as dense graded asphalt mixtures of 20 mm maximum aggregate size. (Fig. 3)

Applicable to;
  • Surface course and binder course of the ultra-heavy duty roads in factory yards or so on.
  • Surface course and base course for port yard.
  • Binder course of heavy duty roads.
